Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Egídio da Costa took the kick off in the first half of the match. Avare's Rômulo Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Matorin in the 4th minute of play. After 6 minutes, Erasmo Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Avare and the Aracazinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, Avare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Soares to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Richard Vasconcelos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rômulo Dante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Egídio da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Matorin in the 13th minute of play forced Avare's goalkeeper Rômulo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Egídio da Costa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gerson Coelho. The goal made the score 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egídio da Costa in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerson Coelho saved Aracazinho FC from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Avare's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Faria came free, but Rômulo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rômulo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Faria in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Egídio da Costa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gerson Coelho. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 35th minute Luís Guilherme Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Egídio da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Róbson Cardozo in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Avare's Erasmo Soares. Gerson Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Guilherme Faria was the one to do the kick off. Egídio da Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gerson Coelho having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Faria in the 56th minute of play forced Avare's goalkeeper Rômulo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Egídio da Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerson Coelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After some careless play in the Aracazinho FC defense, Egídio da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerson Coelho. The Aracazinho FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerson Coelho should have stopped the shot. 67 minutes into the game, Waldir Guerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rômulo Dante. Waldir Guerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Gerson Coelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Egídio da Costa went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Egídio da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gerson Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Avare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Vander to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 83 minutes, Egídio da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egídio da Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Aracazinho FC's zone, Egídio da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerson Coelho came out of the goal and Egídio da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egídio da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Gerson Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Avare's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
