A collision led to A. D. Garça getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Chiquinho Cearense hit a great ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind A. D. Garça's goalkeeper Gerson Mangueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flavinho Hermes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Angelo de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angelo de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jubaia made a substitution. Murillo Loyola replaced Dedê Fernandes. In the 35th minute, Dionísio Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st match minute, A. D. Garça was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. After 45 minutes A. D. Garça's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Giovani Ceresso who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 47 minutes, Dionísio Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jubaia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dionísio Brodel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavinho Hermes to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Flavinho Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jubaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavinho Hermes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerson Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 58th minute of the match Chiquinho Cearense completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Chiquinho Cearense a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 59th match minute, A. D. Garça was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho Cearense to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flavinho Hermes in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerson Mangueira saved A. D. Garça from getting behind. A. D. Garça's Gerson Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionísio Brodel in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionísio Brodel in the 75th minute of play forced A. D. Garça's goalkeeper Gerson Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
