In the 16th play minute Christiano Bastos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Túlio Maranhense. 1-0. A collision led to SS Lazio getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Mazinho Matorin hit a great ball. São Gonçalo FC's Túlio Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Saraiva in the 21st minute of play. Felippe Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseu Vides struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Vítor Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Gonçalo FC. In the 29th minute, Marcus Saldanha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Custódio Braga's late challenge caught a São Gonçalo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Custódio Braga helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes SS Lazio got a freekick which was hit by Custódio Braga. Eliseu Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Paes having to interfere. São Gonçalo FC's Leonardo Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christiano Bastos got free with Túlio Maranhense in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Teixeira in the 45th minute of play forced SS Lazio's goalkeeper Vítor Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Custódio Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcus Saldanha was the one to do the kick off. Túlio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Eliseu Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Vítor Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Sebastião Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Felippe Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Felippe Garcia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The São Gonçalo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 86th minute Enio Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Túlio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiano Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Túlio Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christiano Bastos in the 92nd minute of play. SS Lazio's Vítor Paes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save SS Lazio from getting a goal against them. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. SS Lazio were victorious despite being under pressure from São Gonçalo FC for much of the match.
