Reginaldo Esteves hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, Mate's goal looked a bit too open when Frédson Simões came free, but Kléberson Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kléberson Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frédson Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Kléberson Xavier throw himself and got hold of the ball when Frédson Simões in the 42ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 43 minutes into the match, Luciano Pereira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kléberson Xavier. Mate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luciano Pereira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Reginaldo Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reginaldo Esteves to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Luciano Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corumbatai's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléberson Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Laércio Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Luciano Pereira struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Kléberson Xavier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corumbatai. In the 82nd minute, Frédson Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frédson Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Kléberson Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédson Simões in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kléberson Xavier saved Mate from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Simões in the 88th minute of play forced Mate's goalkeeper Kléberson Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes Mate got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Pirani. When the referee ended the match the Corumbatai players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
