José Maria Mendes made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Pedrão Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the game, CR Jacarepaguá's Durvalino Dracena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luizinho Seco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Durvalino Dracena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Seco having to interfere. Luizinho Seco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Dracena's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durvalino Dracena in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luizinho Seco saved Havre from getting behind. In the 41st minute, Donato Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Durvalino Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléberson Campidelis in the 44th minute of play forced CR Jacarepaguá's goalkeeper José Maria Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the game, CR Jacarepaguá's Benedito Coutinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Durvalino Dracena to make the kick off. Luizinho Seco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benedito Coutinho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 68 minute of play. With his leg Luizinho Seco managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when CR Jacarepaguá's Durvalino Dracena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luizinho Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Luizinho Seco made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Ciro da Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. If Durvalino Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizinho Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Durvalino Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CR Jacarepaguá's Acácio Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded CR Jacarepaguá left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Havre.
