Adalberto Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Garcia having to interfere. A collision led to Poa FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Afonsinho Messias hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Rodolfo Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sobrai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Valadares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolfo Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 21 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Valadares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Garcia. Poa FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodolfo Valadares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marco Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Gonçalves hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Marco Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Sobrai's goalkeeper Cido Ramalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Deivid Corrêa. Poa FC's Marco Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Rodrigues in the 37th minute of play. Afonsinho Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Sobrai were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonsinho Messias to strike the kick off in the second half. After 60 minutes, Deivid Corrêa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poa FC and the Sobrai players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 60 played minutes Poa FC got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Corrêa. Adalberto Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Garcia having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Valadares in the 67th minute of play forced Poa FC's goalkeeper Marco Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Deivid Corrêa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. In the 70th minute, Deivid Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Poa FC's zone, Adalberto Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Garcia came out of the goal and Adalberto Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poa FC's goalkeeper Marco Garcia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Adalberto Veloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Garcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 83rd minute, Afonsinho Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adalberto Veloso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Marco Garcia made a huge save. Rodolfo Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sobrai eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
