Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mário Figueiredo took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th minute, Diaurum's Mário Figueiredo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elder Neiva. Elder Neiva yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Gugu Loureiro made in the 9th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Enio Meira. In the 11th minute Edelmiro Micael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Urbano Lugo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Duda Linares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Duda Linares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruninho Damião. Diaurum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duda Linares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Enio Meira's late challenge caught a Vasco da Gama™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enio Meira helped the player get up and apologised. Enio Meira hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Diaurum's Bruninho Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Linares in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute Nuno Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedito Cordeiro hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Duda Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Bruninho Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama™'s Nuno Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruninho Damião narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Diaurum defense, Edelmiro Micael kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruninho Damião. The Diaurum fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruninho Damião should have stopped the shot. The Diaurum players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vasco da Gama™ were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duda Linares to make the kick off. 52 minutes in the game, Nuno Medeiros fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bruninho Damião having to interfere. Nuno Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nuno Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urbano Lugo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 59 minutes of play, Diaurum's Mário Figueiredo made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elder Neiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nuno Medeiros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruninho Damião having to make a save. Bruninho Damião stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nuno Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Elder Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Diaurum:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vasco da Gama™:s goal. Gugu Loureiro made in the 77th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Vasco da Gama™'s Américo do Vale. Duda Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Bruninho Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute Vasco da Gama™ were awarded a corner. Américo do Vale went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Pepe Briso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Diaurum's Bruninho Damião did a great save. In the 83rd minute Américo do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Medeiros in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruninho Damião saved Diaurum from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Nuno Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Diaurum fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vasco da Gama™ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
