Alfredão Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute Lauro Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esporte Clube Vitória's Lauro Paraense got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Milona SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esporte Clube Vitória were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Vítor Linares was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Vítor Linares in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredão Coelho saved Milona SC from getting behind. Yuri Albuquerque hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro Paraense got free with Alfredão Coelho in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Vítor Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Coelho having to interfere. When Lauro Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Esporte Clube Vitória fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lauro Paraense couldn't finish the play. Alfredão Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lauro Paraense in the 66th minute. Alfredão Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vítor Linares in the 70th minute of play. José Vítor Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute.
