After a defensive mix-up in Guimarães FC's zone, Luiz Eduardo Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Vidal came out of the goal and Luiz Eduardo Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oiler FC's Luiz Eduardo Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Luís Paulo Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oiler FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Paulo Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yan Valadares scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeu Vidal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Eduardo Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Vidal having to interfere. Jaime Souto kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ezequiel Abreu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Rezende was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. If Sérgio Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 played minutes Oiler FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Paes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ezequiel Abreu made the kick off in the second half. Jaime Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amadeu Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Ribeiro in the 61st minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Yan Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Abreu in the 66th minute of the match. A collision led to Oiler FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Caco Vianna hit a great ball. After 71 played minutes Oiler FC got a freekick which was hit by Caco Vianna. If Yan Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu Vidal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yan Valadares in the 76th minute of the match. Guimarães FC's Amadeu Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Ribeiro in the 77th minute of play. Guimarães FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Eduardo Braga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Oiler FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guimarães FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
