After 12 played minutes, Toverstar FC's Orlando Faustino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cláudio Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Toverstar FC reached it. In the 14th match minute, Rio Branco AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Sanches to maneuver through the defense. Severino Pires's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Cláudio Santos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cláudio Santos didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Cláudio Santos made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Afonso Jacinto sent off a good shot on target. Toverstar FC's Orlando Faustino managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vivaldo da Costa in the 30 minute of the game. Naldo de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Valladares in the 33rd minute of play. Naldo de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Luz in the 39th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Severino Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Toverstar FC's Naldo de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião Sanches in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastião Sanches to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Robinho Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rio Branco AC's Cláudio Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robinho Simão in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 minutes, Bernardo Luz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Branco AC and the Toverstar FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bernardo Luz hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rio Branco AC! After a rather tough play, Rio Branco AC's Enrique Gomes got a free kick in the 64th minute. Toverstar FC's André Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 played minutes Toverstar FC got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Simão. If Severino Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robinho Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cláudio Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaká Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorian Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorian Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Naldo de Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Kaká Valladares sent off a good shot on target. Toverstar FC's Severino Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cláudio Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Pires's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Toverstar FC's Robinho Simão got a free kick in the 96th minute. Valdo Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Toverstar FC fully deserved thier win.
