Sílvio Luís Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Pedro Luís Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joana's Oséas Cardozo got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Joana's goalkeeper Tomás Dantas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Abreu. After 12 played minutes Os Espartanos got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Pires. After 16 played minutes Joana got a freekick which was hit by Oséas Cardozo. In the 17th minute of the match Conrado de Souza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomás Dantas skillfully saved the ball. Joana's Tomás Dantas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Joana from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute Clemente Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sílvio Luís Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Osvaldo Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Pedro Luís Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sílvio Luís Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Os Espartanos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Joana were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Paulo Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Breno Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the game, Os Espartanos's Luiz Paulo Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomás Dantas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 62nd minute Luiz Paulo Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Matos scored 2-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomás Dantas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Joana defense, Clemente Motta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Dantas. The Joana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Dantas should have stopped the shot. Luiz Paulo Ramos scored 4-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomás Dantas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Percival Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joana's Tomás Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Matos in the 80th minute of play. Oséas Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Os Espartanos's Pedro Luís Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas Cardozo in the 84th minute of play. Sílvio Luís Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Os Espartanos's zone, Osvaldo Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luís Tande came out of the goal and Osvaldo Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, Luiz Paulo Ramos notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Joana's Tomás Dantas. Tomás Dantas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nuno Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomás Dantas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Breno Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Dantas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Ramos in the 97th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Os Espartanos were victorious despite being under pressure from Joana for much of the match.
