In the 19th minute, Frédson Custódio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Paulo Almeida. The goal made the score 1-0. The audience was convinced that Ricardinho Novaes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romário Amorim was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardinho Novaes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfredão Arantes might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romário Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredão Arantes ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Toheroa booed when Fazenda Petrolina F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position.
