Esporte Clube Vitória's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moisés Vieira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Amauri Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gilson Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Moisés Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilson Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Vieira in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Lúcio Peres made a precise shot to the right of Gilson Novaes. Esporte Clube Vitória's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Moisés Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Matheus Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moisés Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Peres in the 37th minute of play forced Esporte Clube Vitória's goalkeeper Gilson Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Moisés Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buturussu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moisés Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lúcio Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilson Novaes having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lúcio Peres made a kick off. Esporte Clube Vitória's Gilson Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Vieira in the 52nd minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Vitória's goalkeeper Gilson Novaes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lúcio Peres. Matheus Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Moisés Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lúcio Peres might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilson Novaes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lúcio Peres ran back to his position shaking his head. 65 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Vitória's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Queirós came free, but Gilson Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lúcio Peres came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Buturussu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Peres couldn't finish the play. Gilson Novaes was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Moisés Vieira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Moisés Vieira really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. When Moisés Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Buturussu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés Vieira couldn't finish the play. Lúcio Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Lúcio Peres notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Esporte Clube Vitória's Gilson Novaes. Gilson Novaes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Buturussu FC played a much better game than Esporte Clube Vitória and deserved their victory. The Esporte Clube Vitória players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
