With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogério Lima in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Gaúcho saved Figueiredo FC from getting behind. Décio de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Garcia having to interfere. In the 10th minute of the match, Rogério Lima tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emanuel Gaúcho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. José Maria Favoretto hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Emanuel Gaúcho made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when André Luiz Trancoso sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Figueiredo FC's goalkeeper Emanuel Gaúcho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sport Recife's André Luiz Trancoso got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Duarte Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the game, Sport Recife's André Luiz Trancoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emanuel Gaúcho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Emanuel Gaúcho made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when André Luiz Trancoso sent off a good shot on target. After 46 played minutes, Sport Recife's Jorginho Eger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emanuel Gaúcho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sport Recife reached it. Dino Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Décio de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th match minute, Sport Recife was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Baptista to maneuver through the defense. Décio de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Dino Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Décio de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When José Maria Favoretto fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Figueiredo FC's protests and gave José Maria Favoretto a yellow card for diving instead. José Maria Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Dino Garcia acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 65th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kléberson Terra. Emanuel Gaúcho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogério Lima's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Dino Garcia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Décio de Andrade in the 71st minute. In the 76th match minute, Sport Recife was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson das Neves in the 80th minute of play forced Sport Recife's goalkeeper Dino Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Rogério Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Gaúcho came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Recife's André Luiz Trancoso. But to his dismay, André Luiz Trancoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Sport Recife's Dino Garcia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Recife from getting a goal against them. In the 98th minute, André Luiz Trancoso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emanuel Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sport Recife had won after a very even match.
