Bernardo Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilian das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Luiz Fabiano Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bernardo Fontes was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Benê Meira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benê Meira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 16 minutes, Vitório Schmidt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Soad FC and the SS Excellsior FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, Vitório Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorival Lira, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fabiano Teles got free with Bernardo Fontes in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in SS Excellsior FC's zone, Romeu Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Seco came out of the goal and Romeu Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Telmo Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Matos in the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Wilian das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SS Excellsior FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilian das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luiz Fabiano Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Baltazar Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soad FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Seco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Wilian das Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Telmo Seco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltazar Matos in the 58th minute. Bernardo Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian das Neves in the 64th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, SS Excellsior FC's goalkeeper Telmo Seco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltazar Matos. If Wilian das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltazar Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. A collision led to SS Excellsior FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Falcão Cardoso hit a great ball. Baltazar Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 minutes, Hélder Barreto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SS Excellsior FC and the Soad FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SS Excellsior FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Hélder Barreto hit a great ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Soad FC's Romeu Toledo in the 86th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Telmo Seco was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for SS Excellsior FC through an amazing save. If Baltazar Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Telmo Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baltazar Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Telmo Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SS Excellsior FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
