After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, João Pedro Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caleksant LF's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Vergílio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Caleksant LF's zone, Claudinho Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldinho Secco came out of the goal and Claudinho Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th minute, Josefina's Ricardo Mangueira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Osvaldinho Secco. Osvaldinho Secco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After 44 played minutes Josefina got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Lopez. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Claudinho Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldinho Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Saraiva charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Josefina's Ricardo Mangueira, in the 79th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Josefina. The audience was convinced that Erivaldo Xavier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osvaldinho Secco was relentless in the 84th minute of the game.
