Flávio de Godoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anísio Barral in the 49th minute of the match. After the first half Horizonte were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anísio Barral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Horizonte's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavinho do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flávio de Godoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horizonte's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
