After 27 played minutes AS Novelli got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Capixaba. If Marcelinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Umberto Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Corderall in the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Didi Arce cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. The referee ignored AS Novelli's protests and gave Marcelinho Tepedino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AS Novelli getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Marcelinho Tepedino hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Tepedino was the one to do the kick off. Corinthians Paulistano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
