Luís Fernando Soares hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Gabriel Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafinha Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Velloso having to interfere. After having played for 12 minutes, Rafinha Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragão Carioca F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafinha Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giovani Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Capixaba in the 14th minute of play. Rafinha Rocha struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Umberto Velloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dragão Carioca F. C.. Rafinha Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Umberto Velloso made a huge save. Gabriel Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Damião having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diguinho de Amaral in the 27th minute of play forced AS Novelli's goalkeeper Umberto Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diguinho de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Velloso having to interfere. Gabriel Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Damião having to interfere. If Luiz Fabiano Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Capixaba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giovani Damião was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Umberto Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oséias Pena in the 37th minute. Giovani Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Capixaba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes of play, Dragão Carioca F. C.'s Oséias Pena made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Umberto Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Dragão Carioca F. C.'s Diguinho de Amaral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Umberto Velloso. That made the score 2-0 after 46 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diguinho de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Diguinho de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Damião having to interfere. Rafinha Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Umberto Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafinha Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute, Nildo Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Rafinha Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Umberto Velloso was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, AS Novelli's goal looked a bit too open when Rafinha Rocha came free, but Umberto Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, AS Novelli's Ademar Ferraz got a free kick in the 78th minute. Umberto Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diguinho de Amaral in the 81st minute of the match. After 81 played minutes AS Novelli got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Almeida. In the 85th minute Gabriel Capixaba suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Luís Fernando Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. AS Novelli's Umberto Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafinha Rocha in the 90th minute of play. Umberto Velloso came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Dragão Carioca F. C.'s Diguinho de Amaral. But to his dismay, Diguinho de Amaral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 96th minute, Nildo Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AS Novelli's Umberto Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diguinho de Amaral in the 97th minute of play. Dragão Carioca F. C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of AS Novelli for a fine match.
