Marcelinho Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Hernani Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernani Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Capixaba in the 4th minute of the match. Umberto Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yan Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind AS Novelli's goalkeeper Umberto Velloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilmar Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the game, one of AS Novelli:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Gabriel Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27th minute of the match Nando Melo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hernani Freire skillfully saved the ball. Hernani Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriel Capixaba's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Umberto Velloso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yan Arruda went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 33 minutes into the match, AS Novelli's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Barreto came free, but Umberto Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Umberto Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Yan Arruda put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Umberto Velloso. Umberto Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Barreto in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilmar Barreto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes AS Novelli got a freekick which was hit by Ruy Tasso. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilmar Barreto in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Umberto Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gabriel Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Freire having to interfere. Olaria A.C.'s Gilmar Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gabriel Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gabriel Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the AS Novelli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Capixaba couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Olaria A.C.'s Gilmar Barreto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Umberto Velloso. That made the score 0-4 after 85 minutes of play. Umberto Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Barreto in the 89th minute of play. The Olaria A.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
