With a left leg Aírton Simão saved Olimpo Football Club from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Alfredão da Cunha notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Olimpo Football Club's Aírton Simão. Aírton Simão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Alfredão da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corinthians Paulistano's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredão da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
