The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Atlético MS's Anderson Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tales Teixeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tales Teixeira came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético MS's Anderson Lara. But to his dismay, Anderson Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th minute, Paulo Renato Ferreira made a precise shot to the right of Alfredo Salgado. Atlético MS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. João Francisco Ramos hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Ramos in the 22nd minute of play forced Atlético MS's goalkeeper Alfredo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Walmir Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atlético MS's Eliseu Severo got a free kick in the 25th minute. Paulo Renato Ferreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Alfredo Salgado made a huge save. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind United Foxes's goalkeeper Tales Teixeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, United Foxes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anderson Lara in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tales Teixeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eliseu Severo struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Tales Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético MS. Alfredo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Paulo Renato Ferreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Salgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. João Francisco Ramos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredo Salgado came out and tried to block the shot, but João Francisco Ramos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 43rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Francisco Ramos to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Atlético MS's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Ferreira came free, but Alfredo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Renato Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Atlético MS's Alfredo Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Amaral in the 56th minute of play. João Francisco Ramos's late challenge caught a Atlético MS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Zonta helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Atlético MS's Joel Zonta got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 90 played minutes, United Foxes's Fernando Mota shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredo Salgado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in United Foxes reached it. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind United Foxes's goalkeeper Tales Teixeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Chaves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tales Teixeira. That made the score 3-2 in the 95 minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The United Foxes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Atlético MS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
