Legião and the Papary EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baltazar de Almeida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlinhos Prado having to make a save. Carlinhos Prado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doriva Simões in the 11th minute. After 15 played minutes Papary EC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Macedo. Papary EC's Luiz Fabiano Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Paes in the 17th minute of play. Luiz Fabiano Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Paes in the 18th minute of the match. Baltazar de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Orlando de Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Papary EC booed when C.R. Legião was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Papary EC's Carlinhos Prado threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Baltazar de Almeida, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Baltazar de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baltazar de Almeida to strike the kick off in the second half. Cipriano Leal hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes C.R. Legião got a freekick which was hit by Orlando de Andrade. Cristóvão Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When Papary EC's Doriva Simões in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.R. The referee showed Júnior Maranhense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Baltazar de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
