The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo's zone, Leandro de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Goiano came out of the goal and Leandro de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro de Moraes in the 10th minute of play forced Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo's goalkeeper Clemente Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo defense, Donato de Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Goiano. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo. aagoncalez's Mateus Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yan Mattos in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Severino Bertassi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente Goiano. Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Bertassi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 36th minute, Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo's Yan Mattos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Yan Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Yan Mattos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mateus Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Narciso Terciero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Clemente Goiano. Futbol Capuchinho Fratelo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
