The supporters of Manchester United F.C. booed when Acoriana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Renato Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavinho Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Téo Mazza having to make a save. Téo Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Téo Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Silveira in the 46th minute of the match. If Juvenal Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Berger to make the kick off. Téo Mazza came out of the goal and Flavinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
