When Elder Leal fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carnaubas's protests and gave Elder Leal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Carnaubas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Leal to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute of the match José Maria Custódio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Luís Sanches skillfully saved the ball. Edgard Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-0 became the score in the 17th minute when Anísio de Amaral elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Virasoro fc's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Fernandez came free, but Angelo Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Couto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Araújo having to make a save. Anísio de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Araújo came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Carnaubas's Luiz Fernando Fernandez. But to his dismay, Luiz Fernando Fernandez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Roberto Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Angelo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Virasoro fc's Enio de Castro got a free kick in the 37th minute. Carnaubas's André Luís Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio de Amaral in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carnaubas's Elder Leal got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 49th minute, Roberto Couto made a precise shot to the right of Angelo Araújo. Virasoro fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anísio de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. When Anísio de Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Virasoro fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio de Amaral couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Virasoro fc booed when Carnaubas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tales Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Virasoro fc's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Couto came free, but Angelo Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fernando Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Angelo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Roberto Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. After 75 played minutes Carnaubas got a freekick which was hit by Mateus Freitas. 76 minutes into the match, Virasoro fc's José Maria Custódio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Edgard Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís Sanches having to interfere. If Anísio de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elder Leal scored 1-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Araújo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Carnaubas's Luiz Fernando Fernandez in the 93rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Angelo Araújo was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Virasoro fc through an amazing save. In the 94th match minute, Virasoro fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Brodel to maneuver through the defense. Mateus Freitas's late challenge caught a Virasoro fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 98th minute, one of Carnaubas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carnaubas. The Carnaubas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carnaubas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
