The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Feijao's Róbson Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Feijao from getting a goal against them. Alberto da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Róbson Varela made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, corinthians's Alberto da Mata nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Róbson Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Passos in the 56th minute of play forced Feijao's goalkeeper Róbson Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Bernardo Lucas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Feijao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attilio Giorgio to maneuver through the defense. Feijao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave corinthians the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Feijao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of corinthians:s goal. The referee gave corinthians a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Glauco Pereira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Feijao's Róbson Varela. 6-1. Feijao's Róbson Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Passos in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The corinthians fans cheered their team off the field, for while Feijao had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
