Spectators: 7220 (Terracing: 5416, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Balco's Chico Schmidt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Dráuzio Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Interiorano Só Futebol's goalkeeper Cido Velasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Vítor Linares. 17 minutes into the match, Balco's Sonny Rollins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cido Velasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 25 minutes of play, Interiorano Só Futebol's Leopoldo Cearense made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Friedrich Nietzsche was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the game, Balco's João Vítor Linares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cido Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Cido Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chico Schmidt's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Balco's zone, Leopoldo Cearense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Friedrich Nietzsche came out of the goal and Leopoldo Cearense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Balco's Chico Schmidt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Dráuzio Furtado made the kick off in the second half. João Vítor Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cido Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chico Schmidt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cido Velasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Sonny Rollins kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Balco's Chico Schmidt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cido Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Chico Schmidt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cido Velasco having to make a save. After 84 played minutes Balco got a freekick which was hit by Luís da Cunha. Interiorano Só Futebol's Leopoldo Cearense got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Furtado in the 93rd minute of play forced Balco's goalkeeper Friedrich Nietzsche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Interiorano Só Futebol's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
