The coaching staff of Sport Club Jardim Munhoz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Robinho Lima had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 23 minutes into the game, one of Sport Club Jardim Munhoz:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's goalkeeper Henrique Eger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Sebastião Viana came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Sport Club Jardim Munhoz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Viana couldn't finish the play. Jerônimo Valadares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sebastião Viana showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 34 minute of play.
