An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Simões in the 17th minute of play forced Itaperu's goalkeeper Jerônimo Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fernando Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wágner de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciro Simões got in the 24th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Jerônimo Valadares handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 27th minute Wágner de Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fernando Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerônimo Valadares made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Dedé Penha sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Ciro Simões kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jerônimo Valadares. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. After 37 played minutes Itaperu got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Guedes. Ciro Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jerônimo Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Itaperu getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gabriel Guedes hit a great ball. In the 46th minute of the match Tubarão Londrinense got a corner. Itaperu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arthur Velloso ran over to the corner to take the kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wágner de Brito to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ciro Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Erasmo Favoretto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tubarão Londrinense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaperu the free kick. Erasmo Favoretto was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 60th match minute, Tubarão Londrinense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute of the match Itaperu got a corner. Anselmo Tande was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Cléberson Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tubarão Londrinense's Luís Fernando Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner de Brito in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tubarão Londrinense's zone, Wágner de Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fernando Machado came out of the goal and Wágner de Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cléberson Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mauro Paraibano fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tubarão Londrinense's protests and gave Mauro Paraibano a yellow card for diving instead. The Tubarão Londrinense fans cheered their team off the field, for while Itaperu had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
