In the 39th minute of the match Itaperu got a corner. Morada's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mané Simão ran over to the corner to take the kick. Itaperu's Mané Simão was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Davi Montenegro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 41st minute Tony Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tony Alvarenga came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Morada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Luiz Fábio Moraes's late challenge caught a Morada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fábio Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. Luiz Fábio Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Mané Simão in the 60th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Morada's João Pedro de Toledo. In the 61st minute, João Pedro de Toledo made a precise shot to the right of Jerônimo Valadares. Itaperu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Morada's zone, Wágner de Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davi Montenegro came out of the goal and Wágner de Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Itaperu defense, Tony Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerônimo Valadares. The Itaperu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerônimo Valadares should have stopped the shot. João Pedro de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Délio Lara struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Jerônimo Valadares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morada. In the 75th minute, Morada's Délio Lara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. When Délio Lara came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Morada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Délio Lara couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, Juarês Bezerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jerônimo Valadares. Juarês Bezerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. In the 88th minute, João Pedro de Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th match minute, Itaperu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Jerônimo Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juarês Bezerra in the 93rd minute of the match. João Pedro de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Jerônimo Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When João Pedro de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Morada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pedro de Toledo couldn't finish the play. Morada played a much better game than Itaperu and deserved their victory. The Itaperu players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
