The Guata EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Guata EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Benedito Nóbrega scored to the left of an out of position Romeu Valadares, making the score, 2-1. If Gugu de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perivaldo Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Henrique Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu de Lara came free, but Henrique Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeu Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's Robinho Lima got a free kick in the 37th minute. Guata EC's Oscar da Silveira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 38th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sport Club Jardim Munhoz. Gugu de Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrique Eger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gugu de Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. Jerônimo Nunes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Romeu Valadares came out and tried to block the shot, but Jerônimo Nunes slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 43rd minute. Jerônimo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Valadares having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gugu de Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's Henrique Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu de Lara in the 52nd minute of play. Romeu Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Viana in the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's zone, Gugu de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrique Eger came out of the goal and Gugu de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerônimo Nunes in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeu Valadares saved Guata EC from getting behind. 68 minutes into the match, Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's Jerônimo Nunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romeu Valadares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Jerônimo Nunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romeu Valadares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Jerônimo Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastião Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Viana's late challenge caught a Guata EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastião Viana helped the player get up and apologised. Sebastião Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Sebastião Viana struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Romeu Valadares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Jardim Munhoz. 88 minutes into the match, Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's Jerônimo Nunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romeu Valadares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henrique Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu de Lara in the 90th minute of the match.
