Jailson da Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jailson da Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Pirangy FC booed when Eletro Power was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pirangy FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eletro Power the free kick. After 13 played minutes Pirangy FC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Brodel. Márcio de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Pirangy FC's Matheus Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiko Braga in the 28th minute of play. Flávio da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flávio da Silveira to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Valle during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pirangy FC's Celso Valle got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Kiko Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Kiko Braga came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Eletro Power fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kiko Braga couldn't finish the play. Pirangy FC's Pedro Augusto de Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jefferson Ribeiro hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The Pirangy FC fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Pirangy FC's Valdir Secco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Eletro Power booed when Pirangy FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Márcio de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto de Queiroz in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio da Silveira in the 93rd minute of play forced Pirangy FC's goalkeeper Matheus Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th match minute, Pirangy FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Augusto de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. If Flávio da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pirangy FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Eletro Power to leave the ground with a draw.
