Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horácio Santana in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Fantini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diogo da Rocha hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Marcelo Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelo Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, GERA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Mazza came free, but Orlando Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Diamantino Mazza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Centauros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 45 minutes into the game, Centauros's Horácio Santana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orlando Fantini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Marquez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of GERA FC booed when Centauros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 minutes, Thiago Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Centauros and the GERA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
