Spectators: 7171 (Terracing: 5380, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 142) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nuno Velloso kicked off to start the match. Eugênio Sergipano didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 4th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. After a rather tough play, Varzeado's Renatinho Castro got a free kick in the 14th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean Prata during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, Jean Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugênio Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Barros in the 27th minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, Varzeado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademir Reis to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes, Red Bull Crows's Osvaldinho Machado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emanuel Bezerra came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Red Bull Crows reached it. Dinei Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Red Bull Crows booed when Varzeado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean Prata was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jean Prata hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Dinei Bergers short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Eugênio Sergipano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severino Barros was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinei Berger in the 52nd minute of play forced Red Bull Crows's goalkeeper Eugênio Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dinei Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Eugênio Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Bezerra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felippe Soeiro in the 58th minute. Eugênio Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Red Bull Crows's Felippe Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severino Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Eugênio Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severino Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Severino Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugênio Sergipano was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. 81 minutes into the match, Red Bull Crows's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Castro came free, but Eugênio Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aílton Marques hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Felippe Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
