Abelardo Antunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Faustino Baudelio made a huge save. Cafu Hermes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thiago Mendonça to make the kick off. Hélio Varela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Lisbonera F.C's Glauco Barreto in the 89th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Hélio Varela was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Guaraipos FC through an amazing save.
