The supporters of Palestra Futebol Clube booed when Bonecu SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Andrade in the 13th minute of play forced Bonecu SS's goalkeeper Edmílson Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, one of Palestra Futebol Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palestra Futebol Clube. In the 20th minute there was a penalty for Bonecu SS. Zé Paulo Lima stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Caio Trancoso. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Andrade in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmílson Damião prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd match minute, Palestra Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Augusto Pontes to maneuver through the defense. Fabinho de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Edmílson Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmílson Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Paulo Lima succeeded in the game's 48th minute to get real power on a long shot . Palestra Futebol Clube's Caio Trancoso hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-2! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Caio Trancoso made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Rubinho Cardoso sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th minute, Mathias Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute of the match André Munhoz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edmílson Damião showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fabinho de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Trancoso having to interfere. A hard shot by Nelson de Barros from long distance, 66 minutes into the match, got Caio Trancoso's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience was convinced that Fabinho de Toledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caio Trancoso was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Fabinho de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Caio Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 81 played minutes, Palestra Futebol Clube's Simão das Neves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edmílson Damião came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palestra Futebol Clube reached it. Bonecu SS were furious when Valdir Prestes was red carded, 84 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bonecu SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Palestra Futebol Clube a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by André Munhoz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bonecu SS's Edmílson Damião. 1-2. When Fausto Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Palestra Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Andrade couldn't finish the play. Rubinho Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Caio Trancoso made a huge save. Cristiano Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmílson Damião read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Cristiano Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmílson Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Bonecu SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Palestra Futebol Clube throughout the match.
