Cláudio Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 54th minute, Cláudio Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. TheZacato's Geovânio Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Andrade in the 57th minute of play. In the 61st minute Fausto Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovânio Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cláudio Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Caio Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
