An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredinho Sarmento in the 18th minute of play forced Piquete AD's goalkeeper Alfredão Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredão Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Júnior Sabóia got in the 25th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Flavinho Zonta handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Flavinho Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredão Castro came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Itapuan AD's Alfredinho Sarmento. But to his dismay, Alfredinho Sarmento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Claudinei Ortiz scored 0-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredão Castro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredão Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Alfredinho Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Itapuan AD's Flavinho Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior Sabóia in the 44th minute of play. Claudinei Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Castro having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinei Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Motta in the 51st minute of play forced Piquete AD's goalkeeper Alfredão Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute Júnior Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredinho Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Claudinei Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piquete AD's goalkeeper Alfredão Castro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredão Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Ortiz in the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Júnior Sabóia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 78 minutes of play, Itapuan AD's Alfredinho Sarmento made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredão Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claudinei Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. The Piquete AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
