After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid's zone, Lauro Prata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabiano Andrade came out of the goal and Lauro Prata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lauro Prata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabiano Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Isaltino de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jeferson Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Décio Goiano charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Décio Goiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th match minute, União Futebol e Cerveja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Goiano to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, André Teles sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Jeferson Lopes threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for André Teles this time. 28 minutes into the game, Osmar Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. União Futebol e Cerveja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid the free kick. After a rather tough play, União Futebol e Cerveja's Osmar Proença got a free kick in the 28th minute. If Isaltino de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Real Madrid's Edvaldo Fontes in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye União Futebol e Cerveja's goalie prevented a goal. When Juan Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the União Futebol e Cerveja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Abraão couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edvaldo Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Juan Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Décio Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Real Madrid's André Teles tried to score from far away in the 59th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Raúl Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alberto Viana hit a great ball. Jeferson Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaltino de Lara in the 67th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thomás Carneiro during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thomás Carneiro hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Fabiano Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Abraão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Edvaldo Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Real Madrid fully deserved thier win.
