An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Madureira in the 13th minute of play forced Pantanal FC's goalkeeper Giovani do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luís Gustavo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertinho Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Luís Gustavo Teixeira might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Veiga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When João Carlos Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Porto F.C. fans jumped to their feet.
