But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertinho Félix couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho Félix in the 10th minute of play forced Jókei CE's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laércio Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Giovani do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 minutes, Rafa Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pantanal FC and the Jókei CE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rafa Amorim hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Abel Capixaba, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Pedro Luís Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Félix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luís Gustavo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Teixeira in the 35th minute of play forced Jókei CE's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Pantanal FC. Jano Moura stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedro Luís Tinoco. 0-1. Marcinho Veloso hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Laércio Mangueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giovani do Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laércio Mangueira ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovani Salles to make the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, José Vítor Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jókei CE's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Vítor Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 60 played minutes Jókei CE got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Mangueira. Laércio Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giovani do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovani Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandro Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Pantanal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. Umberto Albuquerque hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albertinho Félix in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Luís Tinoco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geovani Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani do Vale having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Pantanal FC's Albertinho Félix ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Luís Tinoco. Pedro Luís Tinoco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2.
