Guto Favoretto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alessandro Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. When Cabedelos's Guto Favoretto in 11 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Alessandro Monteiro guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Guto Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Alessandro Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 14 played minutes Poli FC got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Pontes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigo Barral during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Rodrigo Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Guto Favoretto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabedelos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poli FC the free kick. A collision led to Cabedelos getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Guto Favoretto hit a great ball. Ulisses Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Alessandro Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guto Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulisses Paess short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Alessandro Monteiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gilvan Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Queiroz in the 26th minute of the match. Válbson Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Válbson Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, Poli FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Poli FC's zone, Guto Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Monteiro came out of the goal and Guto Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cabedelos booed when Poli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Guto Favoretto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poli FC's Alessandro Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. During the 39th minute of the match Válbson Queiroz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Válbson Queiroz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 40th minute, Válbson Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulisses Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Alessandro Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes Poli FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joaquim Paranaense who took care of the corner kick. Geovânio Tavares tried in the 48th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Alessandro Monteiro a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guto Favoretto made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guto Favoretto in the 58th minute of play forced Poli FC's goalkeeper Alessandro Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Ulisses Paes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alessandro Monteiro. Poli FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulisses Paes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 68th minute, Ulisses Paes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cabedelos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. If Rodrigo Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. In the 84th minute Guto Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Guga Couto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After having played for 92 minutes, Ulisses Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabedelos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulisses Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 96 played minutes, Cabedelos's Joaquim Paranaense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alessandro Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cabedelos reached it. After 98 played minutes Cabedelos got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Paranaense. Geovânio Tavares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 100th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cabedelos had played much better football throughout.
