In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dunas SC's goalkeeper Leandro Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valdomiro Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Vale in the 13th minute of the match. Luizinho Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Luizinho Aparecido came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Dunas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizinho Aparecido couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Naldo Vale in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdomiro Luz saved Malas United from getting behind. Caio Recife hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Leandro Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tião Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The audience was convinced that Frédson Messias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leandro Marinho was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. If Frédson Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fábio Tande scored 1-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdomiro Luz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tião Alagoano was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fábio Tande during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute Naldo Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luizinho Aparecido came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Dunas SC fans jumped to their feet. Malas United's Valdomiro Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Aparecido in the 70th minute of play. Leandro Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frédson Messias in the 72nd minute. Leandro Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tião Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luizinho Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Valdomiro Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
