Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thomás Arantes scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lance Porter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Ares Empire's goalkeeper Rubens Souto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcinho Toscano. The audience was convinced that Sidney de Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Souto was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The Barreirinha FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Thomás Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rubens Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney de Castro in the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Barreirinha FC's Waldir da Fonseca got a free kick in the 74th minute. Lance Porter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomás Arantes in the 75th minute.
