Spectators: 6684 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 0) Ibitiuna's Adilson Branco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ibitiuna's Oséas Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto de Moraes in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Atlético Céu Azul's Leonardo Peres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oséas Monteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 11th minute, Zé Augusto de Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luiz Fernando Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adilson Branco struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Laerte Neiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibitiuna. If Severino Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Ibitiuna's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Peres came free, but Oséas Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ibitiuna's zone, Leonardo Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Augusto de Moraes made a kick off. Luiz Fernando Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oséas Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Silveira in the 55th minute of play. If Zé Augusto de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Céu Azul's goalkeeper Laerte Neiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ibitiuna's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Zé Augusto de Moraes 71 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. Leonardo Peres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Oséas Monteiro made a huge save. After having played for 76 minutes, Zé Augusto de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Céu Azul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Augusto de Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Ibitiuna's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto de Moraes came free, but Oséas Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zé Augusto de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
