The DIABLOS RS F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ibitiuna were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Doriva Custódio made the kick off in the second half. Adilson Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oséas Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Custódio in the 55th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ibitiuna's zone, Paulinho Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oséas Monteiro came out of the goal and Paulinho Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to DIABLOS RS F.C. getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Emerson Godoi hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Enio Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. DIABLOS RS F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Enio Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséas Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The DIABLOS RS F.C. manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Ibitiuna to win.
