Doriva Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Tião Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramón Zanette was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 11 minutes into the match. Leandro Moraes was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Dário Simões capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dário Simões really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Leandro Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wágner Ferraz in the 21st minute. In the 22nd match minute, Tuiuti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Leandro Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Wágner Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, SE PALMEIRAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Pires to maneuver through the defense. Cléberson Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tião Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leandro Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cido Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Cido Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Tuiuti had played much better football throughout.
