Manoel Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Valle having to interfere. A collision led to Sitinho getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Fernandão Barbosa hit a great ball. Nuno Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chico Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Róbson Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chico Marinho in the 41st minute of play forced Sitinho's goalkeeper Róbson Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Diego França was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
