Santa Cruz's Renan Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Toheroa's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Jacinto came free, but Dito Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Renan Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernão do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dito Vinhas having to interfere. Aírton Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Jacinto in the 25th minute of play forced Toheroa's goalkeeper Dito Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Renan Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the game, Aírton Bertassi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toheroa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Cruz the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Toheroa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Santa Cruz defense, Marquinhos Negri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Váldson Maia. The Santa Cruz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Váldson Maia should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Marquinhos Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toheroa's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Negri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Váldson Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marquinhos Negri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Váldson Maia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
A hard shot 53 in the game by Renan Jacinto from a close distance when the talented Dito Vinhas managed to make a qualified save. Toheroa's players were relieved. Renan Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dito Vinhas having to interfere. Santa Cruz's Rui Netto got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexsandro Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Fernão do Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Renan Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Santa Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renan Jacinto couldn't finish the play. If Marquinhos Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Toheroa booed when Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexsandro Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Jacinto in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dito Vinhas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Toheroa's Dito Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernão do Vale in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Nogueira in the 87th minute of play forced Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Váldson Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquinhos Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Maia having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, Renan Jacinto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dito Vinhas. Renan Jacinto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Toheroa had won after a very even match.
